Rukan talkooviikko tulee taas, hae mukaan!

Kumparelaskun maailmancupin avaus järjestetään jälleen marras-joulukuun vaihteessa Rukalla ja ketkäs muutkaan kuin liikuntalaiset ovat näitä kisoja järjestämässä! Sporticuksen ja Ski Sport Finlandin yhteistyö on kantanut jo yli 10 vuotta, ja sama meno jatkuu edelleen! 

Tänä vuonna talkooviikko osuu viikolle 48. Lähdemme Jyväskylästä maanantaina 25.11. ja palaamme takaisin sunnuntaina 1.12. illalla. Kumpareissa kisataan lauantaina 30.11. ja me pääsemme seuraamaan kisoja eturivin paikoilta. 
 

Työtehtävät koostuvat monipuolisesti erilaisista hommista kumparerinteessä ja niiden ulkopuolella. Töitä tehdään aluerakennus-, rinne- ja toimistoryhmissä: 

Aluerakennusryhmän tehtäviin mm. Kilpailualueen, rinteen turvallisuuden, sekä oheistapahtuma-alueen rakennus. 

Rinneryhmän tehtäviin kuuluvat mm. Kisarinteen kumpareikon ja hyppyreiden rakennus sekä kunnossapito. 

Toimistoryhmän tehtäviin mm. kilpailutoimiston tehtävien hoitaminen. 

Työtehtävien hoitaminen edellyttää hyvää laskutaitoa suksilla, erityisesti rinne- ja aluerakennusryhmäläisiltä, sillä he työskentelevät haastavissa olosuhteissa jyrkässä kumparerinteessä. Peruslaskutaidoillakin pärjää, jos asennetta uuden oppimiselle löytyy! Osa töistä tapahtuu myös maankamaralla.

Majoitus, ruokailut ja hissiliput hoituvat Ski Sport Finlandin puolesta. Myös laskettelukamat ovat saatavissa lainaan Rukalta mikäli omia ei löydy. Majoitus tapahtuu yhteisissä kämpissä, ja yhteishenki onkin tämän reissun avainsana! 

Matkat: Sporticus järjestää talkooviikolle yhteiskuljetuksen Jyväskylästä Rukalle ja takaisin. Lähtökohtaisesti talkooviikko ei tule maksamaan talkoolaisille mitään, mutta on olemassa mahdollisuus, että joudumme kustantamaan pienen osan yhteisistä kuljetuksista.  

Talkoisiin kaivataan noin 30 Sporticuksen jäsentä.  Mukaan valitaan sekä aiemmin Rukan MC:tä järjestämässä olleita (2/3) että ensikertalaisia (1/3). Kiintiöillä mahdollistamme osaavan talkoojengin sekä toiminnan jatkuvuuden! Jos jompikumpi kiintiöistä näyttää jäävän vajaaksi, täydennetään porukka toisesta kiintiöstä.

HUOM! Lähettämällä hakemuksen sitoudut lähtemään Rukalle koko talkooviikoksi! Harkitsethan siis tarkasti kykeneväisyyttäsi irtautua muista velvollisuuksistasi viikoksi. Laitamme sähköpostia kaikille hakemuksen lähettäneille lokakuun loppuun mennessä.

Would you like to spend a snowy week in Ruka volunteering with a top team? If you answered "yes", then read the detailed description of the specifications below and apply to join us!  

At the turn of November and December, Ruka will once again host the opening of the FIS Freestyle World Cup, and who else but Sporticus will be making this event come true! The cooperation between Sporticus and Ski Sport Finland has been going on for more than 10 years and it will continue! 
This year the work week is in week 48, we will leave Jyväskylä on Monday 25.11. and return on Sunday 1.12. Moguls event will be on Saturday 30.11. and we will be able to watch the races from the front row.
  

The tasks will consist of a variety of jobs on and off the hill. The work will be done in teams in the area, on the slopes and in the office:  

Area construction team is responsible of the competition area, slope safety features and the event area.  

The duties of the slope team include the construction and maintenance of the hill and jumps.  

The tasks of the office team include the tasks of the competition office. 

The tasks require good downhill skiing skills, especially for the slope and area construction team, as they work in challenging conditions on steep icy slopes. Even basic skiing skills will do if you have the attitude to learn! Some of the work is also done on the ground.

Accommodation, meals and lift tickets are provided by Ski Sport Finland. Rental skis are also offered if you don't have your own. Accommodation is in shared cabins and team spirit is the key word on this trip!

Sporticus will organise a bus from Jyväskylä to Ruka and back. In principle, the week will be free for the volunteers, but there is a possibility that we will have to pay for a small part of the shared transport.

We are looking for around 30 people. Both those who have organised Ruka MC before (2/3) and first timers (1/3) will be chosen. The quotas will allow us to provide competent volunteers and ensure the continuity of this tradition! If one of the quotas seems to be insufficient, we will fill the team from the other quota.
